Well since I am home from college till April and working in Harrisburg, I decide to hit one of my old favorites on my day off today. I grew up fishing the Manada when I was in town visiting my grandparents in Grantville. I headed back to the DHALO section near what the locals refer to as Eddie Rares place. All the flooding has really changed this stream around, but the old bridge pool was still there so I started there. NOTHING!!! decided to fish my way up stream working a brown crystal bugger with a few smaller trout chasing it but no hook ups. On the way back down to the bridge pool I switched to a rubberleg Prince Nymph and immediately hooked up with a decent brown. A few seconds later I stood picking my fly out of a patch of brush, frustrated that I lost the fish. I decided to fish my way to the next bridge below the bridge pool and ended up catching 2 nice browns one on the brown crystal bugger and one on an olive Crystal bugger.
It was great to Fish the Manada. Lots of childhood memories of me and my father fishing this stream were brought to the surface and the temperature today made it even better. 45 degrees and sunny in Mid January, cant ask for much more
Pretty fish there Josh. Glad to see you are getting into some. Wish I could be getting out more!
